TREAT Users Guide - Fabrication

TREAT has fabrication requirements for experiments to be placed in the Reactor which will be provided to the experimenter upon identification for fabrication needs. The experimenters should also be familiar with national standards applicable to their proposed experiments, particularly ANSI/ASME NQA-l, "Quality Assurance Program Requirements for Nuclear Facilities." Certification that work was carried out in accordance with a program meeting ANSI/ASME NQA-I as applicable, shall be included in the "As-Built" Data Package.

"As-built" information, as applicable, such as certifications of conformance; final design criteria; welding procedure specifications; weld and material samples; nondestructive examination and other test reports; independent material certifications; control plan, waiver, and/or nonconformance documentation; radiographs; and "as-built" drawings shall be submitted to TREAT staff to verify the integrity of the experimental components.

Questions and comments that arise as a result of TREAT's review of the "as-built" data package will be communicated to the experimenter. Generally, a written response from the experimenter will be required to resolve any substantive questions before the experiment be approved for insertion in the Reactor. TREAT staff will acknowledge receipt and satisfactory content of the "as-built" data package.

Subsequent final approval and acceptance of the experiment at TREAT will be contingent upon verification of compliance with Guide requirements and absence of possible damage to the experiment from shipping or other causes.
